Shenzhou VII Launched LED Extravehicular Lights Lighting the Sky First
Abstract: The LED "extravehicular Lights" ,which is on the Shenzhou VII spacecraft,Light the sky first. Although its size is the same as an A4 size paper, it is enough to be able to provide brightness of the lighting when the astronauts emerged from the capsule .
LED -The First Choice of Extravehicular Lights
It is understood that on the other countries spacecraft, Metal Halide Lamp achieved the general lighting when astronauts emerged from the capsule.Although it can provide enough brightness, its heat and power are very high. But during the Shenzhou VII lauching , we use LED lighting for exiting from the capsule the first time. The 24 small LED light bulb are distributed in arc shape, making the "extravehicular Lights" as a whole. However, the entire power consumption is 27 watts, only slightly more bright than an ordinary incandescent, while the scope of lighting can be guaranteed that the level of 160 degrees to 180 degrees vertical.
Not only that, reporters have also learned that though this "Shenzhou VII stronauts' extravehicular lighting system," is the same size as an A4 paper's, it can control the heat effectively.At the same time,it also can prevent the astronauts feeling vertigo when walk out of the capsule.
Small Satellite Pictures with the "Shenzhou VII"
In the vast universe,all the movements of "Shenzhou VII " are recorded by the small satellite. This time, a small satellite flying around "Shenzhou VII" is made by the Shanghai Micro-systems design Institute ,China Academy of Sciences.With two lenses, small satellite can shoot a clear image in range of 4 meters to 2 kilometers.Small satellite can also store more than 3,000 pieces of photos, and send them back with speed of Trillions per second.
It is understood that the life span of this small satellite is six months in space, with 40cm in diameter.It is made of a kind of domestic high-capacity lithium-ion battery for the first time. After astronauts return to the capsule,the satellite is released. while it can shoot photos and make video observation, its does not been used as live TV broadcasting.The scene of astronauts emerging from the spaceship will be shot by the camera outside the spacecraft.
After astronauts return to the cockpit, astronauts press the button according to the instructions sent from the ground, a small satellite is bounced off the spacecraft by spring to ricochet off the spacecraft. Because of the fast speed at the beginning, small satellite is always in front of the satellite.Spacecraft can shoot running posture of Shenzhou VII from different angles outside the spacecraft.This constantly adjusted movement of distance between the two objects is also for laying the foundation for technology of docking with the space assembly. |
